Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner Robert E. McKenzie was quoted in an April 3 article in MarketWatch. The article titled “Tax-debt relief firms pay the price” discusses the closing of three well-known firms – TaxMasters, JK Harris, and Roni L. Deutch – who have had civil lawsuits filed against them by customers who were promised help with their tax debt but found no relief. Mr. McKenzie comments that he has represented clients who have paid a lot of money to these resolution services and were dissatisfied with the results.
