EB-5 visa program rewards immigrants who create U.S. jobs

Arnstein & Lehr Miami Partner Randall Sidlosca recently appeared on a November 25 Fox News Channel segment, “EB-5 Visa Program Rewards Immigrants Who Create U.S. Jobs.” The focus of the segment was how the EB-5 program works for immigrant investors and the upswing of participants in the initiative.

Mr. Sidlosca provided some insight into the program’s scope and benefits. He assists immigrant investors, which have the required capital and job creation capabilities, with finding investment projects nationwide. Mr. Sidlosca emphasized the benefits to both the foreign immigrant investor and the United States. He summed it up by saying the U.S. needs the creation of more jobs, and the immigrants receive a permanent green card and a beneficial place to invest their money. It is a win-win situation.

Randall L. Sidlosca quoted in Fox Latino, Yahoo news, Univision Noticias articles on extending the EB-5 visa program as good way to spur the U.S. economy

Arnstein & Lehr Miami Partner Randall L. Sidlosca was quoted in two Spanish-speaking news sites on August 23, Yahoo news and Univision Noticias, regarding the EB5 visa program for foreign investors. The articles, titled “Experts ask for extension of visas that benefit LatAm businessmen,” discuss how the EB5 was created in 1990 and will expire on September 30; so far, the Senate has approved a new extension for another three years, however, it is not clear whether the House will vote on it. Mr. Sidlosca comments that the EB5 program is very popular among investors in Latin America, especially in Venezuela and Mexico, seeking a “safe” place for their investments. Fox News Latino has also picked up the EFE story and translated the article into English. Fox Latino has 829,467 unique visitors per month.

The article discusses the possibility of Congress passing a bill that would remove visa requirements for travelers from Brazil, who currently need to apply for a visa to travel to the country. The article includes Mr. Sidlosca’s comments regarding the positive impact of a visa waiver on Miami’s real estate market, where Brazilians are purchasing high-end condos.

Randall Sidlosca appointed chair of The Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee

Miami Partner Randall L. Sidlosca was recently appointed chairman of The Florida Bar’s Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee (UPL). The UPL Florida Bar 11D Committee investigates and prosecutes unlicensed practice of law allegations in the 11th Judicial Circuit (Miami-Dade County). The committee is empowered to take testimony and make findings concerning complaints of unlicensed practice of law.
