Lidings announces new firm appointments

Lidings law firm proudly announces the appointment of Partner Andrey Zelenin to the position of the firm’s Managing Partner, and partner Sergey Kislov to the position of the Head of the Moscow office’s Dispute Resolution practice.

The changes to the firm’s structure occurred in the wake of the recently-announced creation by Lidings Managing Partner Sergey Aksenov of an investment fund and the expansion of his business interests.

New Appointment in Lidings Dispute Resolution Practice

Lidings law firm announces the promotion of Alexander Popelyuk, senior associate of dispute resolution practice, to the position of counsel in the firm’s Moscow office.

Prior to joining Lidings in the fall of 2013 Alexander Popelyuk has worked in one of the national law firms and headed dispute resolution projects at Otto Group Russia and Far East Generating Company. At Lidings he is involved in a series of landmark projects representing interests of a large Irish bank’ subsidiary company in arbitrazh courts in Russia, as well as representing a major producer of electrical power equipment in a number of corporate disputes and bankruptcy cases, advising the client on its way to adopting interim measures in Canada.

Lidings Starts a Series of Industrial Law Workshops for Students

Lidings law firm announces the launch of an educational program course at the law faculty of the Moscow State University. The course is combined of a series of special workshops dedicated to specifics of working in particular industrial spheres: pharmaceuticals, information technology, automotive and FMCG. Each industrial sector will be covered by one lecture and one practical lesson enhanced by a Case Study. The first lesson is scheduled to take place on February 17th. The final lesson and a test over the topics covered during the course will take place on March 11th.

RBC: Lidings has advised JTI on privatization of a land plot under the Liggett-Ducat factory in Moscow

Lidings, a law firm dedicated to providing legal support to foreign business in Russia, advised JTI, a major Japanese tobacco products manufacturer, in its privatization project of a large land plot under the “Liggett-Ducat” tobacco factory in Moscow.

The acquired land plot occupies approximately 3 hectares and is located near Moscow’s Kashira highway.  JTI managed to exercise its right for privatization at 20% of the land plot’s cadastral value – a preferential buy-out rate that will cease to apply as of the new year.
