Weisberg were listed as plaintiff’s attorneys in a motion to dismiss counterclaim case that was featured in the August 9 issue of LexisNexis Mealey’s Insurance Pleadings. The article, titled “Insured Seeks Dismissal Of ‘Redundant’ Counterclaim In Pollution Liability Dispute,” discusses a breach of contract case, Frank F. Kucera Co. v. Navigators Insurance Co., No. 12-00693, N.D. Ill., that was won by Mr. Krauze and Mr. Weisberg.

Justin L. Weisberg speaks at ABA Forum on construction industry and P3 projects in Las Vegas

Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner Justin L. Weisberg gave a presentation at the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry Division 3/Design at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas on Friday, April 27. The program was titled “The Uncharted Road from Design-Bid-Build to P3 and Lean Construction.” Mr. Weisberg was part of a panel discussion regarding the challenges and changes faced by architects and engineers who embark on a P3 or Lean Construction Project. On April 20, Mr. Weisberg also spoke at the Building Information Modeling Education Program on “Contract Negotiation & Risk Allocation” in Elk Grove Village.

Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partners Samuel H. Levine and Justin L. Weisberg will be speaking at the ISBA Construction Program on April 16 in Bloomington, Illinois and April 27 in Chicago, Illinois. The conference, titled “The Construction Project from Womb to Tomb (and Then Back to Life),” and will offer six hours of MCLE credit and covers the construction project lifecycle, from acquiring the real estate to bringing failed projects back to life. Mr. Weisberg will speak on “Payment and Performance Bonds” and Mr. Levine will speak on “Enhancement and Priorities between Mortgagees and Lien Claimants.”

Justin L. Weisberg supports Boy Scouts of America Annual Dinner and Raffle

Weisberg is serving on the 2012 Construction Industry Dinner Executive Committee, which is hosting the Construction Industry Dinner on May 9 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Chicago. The dinner is the largest financial supporter of the Chicago Area Council youth programs, including the Boy Scouts of America. As part of the fundraising efforts, a raffle has been organized in concert with the annual dinner. All proceeds will be donated to the Chicago Boy Scouts of America.

Samuel Levine, Justin Weisberg participate in mechanics liens and construction claims seminar at NIU College of Law

Chicago Partners Samuel Levine and Justin Weisberg recently participated in the April 8 Mechanics Liens and Construction Claims seminar conducted by the ISBA’s Special Committee on Construction Law.  Samuel coordinated the CLE seminar and also served as a moderator on the topic “Bankruptcy, Mechanics Liens and Construction Issues.”  Justin spoke on the topic “Perfecting Mechanics Liens and Bond Claims on Public Projects.”  The seminar was held at Northern Illinois University’s College of Law in DeKalb.  The program served as a primer fro construction lawyers, real estate practitioners, and general practice attorneys with basic to intermediate practice experience.
