FTC HOSTS WORKSHOP ON ADVERTISING AND PRIVACY DISCLOSURES IN ONLINE AND MOBILE MEDIA

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently hosted a public workshop to consider the need for new guidance concerning advertising and privacy disclosures in the current online and mobile environment.

Specifically, the workshop addressed the challenges that have emerged in the last twelve years since the FTC issued its online advertising disclosure guidance (Dot Com Disclosures),¬†including the challenge of making clear and conspicuous advertising¬†and privacy disclosures in social media and in mobile marketing, particularly in instances where there is limited space.
