Greater Boston Legal Services Re-Elects Samuel B. Moskowitz as Board Officer

On June 21, Davis Malm shareholder Samuel B. (Sandy) Moskowitz was reelected as a Vice President of the Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Board of Directors and to its Executive Committee. In these roles, Mr. Moskowitz will continue his work to advance GBLS’ mission to provide high-quality legal representation to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Boston area.

A longtime GBLS supporter and active Board Member, Mr. Moskowitz said, “I am honored to be reelected to the leadership team of an organization with such a strong history of supporting the disenfranchised. Davis Malm Hosts Springboard Enterprises Health Innovation Hub Program

On April 20, 2017, Davis Malm hosted and participated in a three-day bootcamp for Springboard Enterprises’ Health Innovation Hub: Life Science Program. Davis Malm shareholders, Sam A. Mawn-Mahlau and Richard L. Sampson, took part in the event, providing opening remarks and participating in the bootcamp’s Intellectual Property roundtable, respectively. Fifteen women-led healthcare and life science companies were chosen to participate in this highly selective program, which included interactive coaching sessions and roundtable discussions.

Sam A. Davis Presents at Greater Boston APALSA Conference

On January 21, Davis Malm corporate associate Sam A. Davis presented at the 2017 Greater Boston Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) Conference, “Make Your Mark.” Mr. Davis served as a guest panelist for a panel discussion focused on providing tips to Asian American law students on resume writing skills and interviewing strategies. He also participated in the event’s Speed Mentoring session, where he mentored law students on how to choose a successful career path.

Davis Malm’s Lawrence Casey and Richard Sampson to Present at SBANE Program, “Practical IP Solutions for Start-Ups and Small Businesses”

Davis Malm shareholders Lawrence J. Casey and Richard L. Sampson will present at the Smaller Business Association of New England’s (SBANE) Technology & Innovation Committee event, “Practical IP Solutions for Start-Ups and Small Businesses,” on September 29th, from 7:30 – 10:00 a.m. at SBANE’s Headquarters, 1601 Trapelo Road, Waltham, MA.

Mr. Sampson will present strategies for protecting a company’s intangible assets (patents, copyrights and trademarks), and will provide an overview of the different types of filings. He will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each, as well as how to enforce IP rights and avoid potential pitfalls. Mr. Casey will serve as program moderator.
