Lidings acts as legal counsel to major Taiwanese IT company Foxconn Technology in its construction of a $60 million facility in Saint-Petersburg

Lidings acts as legal counsel to major Taiwanese IT company Foxconn Technology in its construction of a $60 million facility in Saint-Petersburg

Lawyers in Lidings’ real estate and construction group have advised Taiwan’s largest IT company Foxconn Technology on its construction of a computer and components manufacturing facility in Saint-Petersburg.

Lidings’ role involved a preliminary study of various potential investment options, and the development of various legal strategies to support their implementation. Lidings’ lawyers were called upon to advise on the acquisition of land and the construction of the facility (and, particularly, rights and guarantees in the event of the premature termination of construction), as well as negotiating working conditions with project partners.

Partner Andrey Zelenin commented: “Participation in a major project of this kind is a significant responsibility. The fact that Foxconn chose Lidings to advise them in this case is testament to the development – and the skills – of our real estate and construction practice”.

Foxconn RUS General Director Andrey Korzhakov commented: “It is unlikely we would have been able to finalize this project in such a short period of time without the support of Lidings’ lawyers. This transaction gave us the opportunity to witness their professionalism not only in dealing with local issues, but throughout the course of successfully managing the work of a multinational team of lawyers from the Czech Republic, China, and Russia”.
