ILN Update on Ukraine

Since February 24, 2022, the International Lawyers Network has continued to monitor the events in Ukraine closely. We posted an initial statement on February 25th condemning the attack by Russia, followed by an unequivocal statement against the war on March 2nd. Due to the continued escalation and the clear breach of international law as stated by the International Bar Association and ruled by the International Court of Justice, the ILN has agreed, with immediate effect, that the member firms in Russia will no longer be members of the International Lawyers Network.

This decision is not a reflection on the firms or individuals, but a direct consequence of the Russian government’s invasion of Ukraine. We thank our member firms for their previous contributions to the Network.

The ILN continues to support its Ukrainian member firm and the people of Ukraine. We have donated to People in Need, an NGO with a long track record, on behalf of our members to provide aid and relief to those who are suffering in Ukraine. Though our member firm is affected by the war, they are operational and able to provide services to their clients. We as an organization are continuing to seek ways in which we can collectively support our members and the people of Ukraine. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of Ukraine with the hope for an end to this war as soon as possible.
