THE UNITED STATES FORESEES A GREAT INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCTURE IN ECUADOR.-
The Ecuadorian government informed that various direct projects with the United States of America will be developed by the end of the year.
Ricardo Zuñiga, Chief Undersecretary of State for the Western Hemisphere Matters remarked his country´s interest to back up Ecuador in different fields.
“We came here to promote a strong investment in infrastructure which in time it means to invest in the people”, said the US Official, after insisting that in the destination areas are also public health, access to education, and the so-called digital economy.
During the meeting, proposals related to infrastructure investments in areas relative to climatic change and technology were also approached.
On his part, the Ecuadorian Minister of Production and Foreign Commerce, Julio Jose Prado, said that various projects will be developed directly with the US until the end of the year.
The goal is to “put them in execution from 2022 on”, added Prado in mentioning the US interest in injecting resources in matters as technology and digitization.
Prado also announced that in the meeting they also talked about the possibility that Ecuador enters into a long-term trade agreement with the US.
On his part, the US Ambassador in Ecuador, Michael Fitzpatrick, pointed out that some possibilities of injecting resources addressed to “investing in the coming physical and human infrastructure related to the future of Ecuador and other nations of the region” were discussed in the meeting.
