NEWS FROM ECUADOR: INTERNATIONAL BIDDING

THE MAYOR AND PAST-MAYOR OF GUAYAQUIL (as President of the Bicentennial Committe) ANNOUNCED THE BIDDING OF THE NEW AIRPORT FACILITY.-

v  The final cost of the new Airport, which will have three phases, will be around $1.5 billion

v  TAGSA, the Guayaquil Airport present Concessionaire, presented its permit in order to participate in the construction of the new Airport (Daular).

v  Daular is 26 kms. away from Guayaquil, on a first class highway.

v  The Mayors announced that the phases of the construction will anyway go under an international new bidding; as there can always be a better offeror.

v  The first phase has already been successfully executed; seven treatment plants for the surrounding communities, 30 kilometers of streets, longhouses, churches, sidewalks, curbs, have been built along the highway that conducts to the Airport.

v  The Second Phase is the construction of the Daular Airport, and the Third Phase is “the New City” (a “Master Plan” city to be planned and constructed on the facilities of the present Airport “José Joaquin de Olmedo” of Guayaquil.
