The new Vexatious Proceedings Act 2014 (Vic) introduces a new regime to deal with vexatious litigants and provides flexibility in the type of orders Victorian courts and tribunals can make in the future.
The Vexatious Proceedings Bill 2014 (Vic) was introduced into the Legislative Assembly on 18 February 2014 and passed on 3 April 2014. The Bill was introduced into the Legislative Council the same day and passed on 12 June. The Bill received royal assent on 17 June 2014 and commences 31 October 2014. More…
