Joel Hurwitz writes supplement to commercial real estate chapter

Arnstein & LehrArnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner Joel M. Hurwitz recently completed a supplement to his chapter, “Commercial Real Estate Transactions – the Mortgage Lender’s Perspective,” in the treatise, Commerical Real Estate, published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). Mr. Hurwitz has been the author of the chapter and supplements for several years. The chapter, as supplemented, is scheduled for publication in late spring 2013.

The article discusses the Senate’s passage of the Marketplace Fairness Act and how it relies on small business exemption. Ms. Forte offers her thoughts on how the states will verify a retailer’s sales total, taking into consideration sales tax software that calculates the tax based on jurisdiction.
