Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner David Newman was recently named co-chair of an important new ABA sub-committee called the ABA SEP ADR Proposal (ASAP) sub-committee. The sub-committee will be developing best practices for standard essential patent owners to follow to avoid FTC scrutiny when asserting patents and attempting to obtain an injunction. The sub-committee has a wide ranging membership including individuals from the federal government, arbitral bodies, standard setting organizations and industry.
