A&L’s newly named Committee on Diversity & Inclusion hosts its launching in Chicago office

On Friday, January 18, Arnstein’s Chicago office hosted a reception for the launching of the newly named Committee on Diversity & Inclusion. The reception was an opportunity to speak with committee members about the committee’s new mission statement, goals for the upcoming year and the 2013 charities that will be sponsored by the firm’s monthly “denim days.” Guests received a number of promotional gifts and also enjoyed delicious cupcakes made by Chicago Receptionist Seanette Thompson and Office Administrator Donna Johnson (visit their company’s website, www.shonnadonna.com).

In addition to honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday and Black History Month, the Committee on Diversity & Inclusion is contributing $500 to the Black Women Lawyers’ Association (BWLA) Scholarship Fund. The check was presented by Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Partner Jennifer Sarhaddi to Arnstein & Lehr Chicago Associate Erin Cannon, who serves on the Board of Directors for both BWLA and the BWLA Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund assists Illinois law students achieve their goals to work in the legal community by providing financial support to them while they are enrolled in law school.
