Andrej Rudanov on the legal environment and possibilities of investing into health care

Andrej Rudanov, senior associate of law firm TARK GRUNTE SUTKIENE, together with VšĮ MTVC (Training, Research and Development Centre) participated in the public presentation of the analysis on private fund raising for Lithuanian inpatient health care institutions, which was given on 22 March 2012. During the event A. Rudanov introduced the current legal regulation, proposals for its improvement and changes with the aim to implement the models discussed in the analysis, answered the participants’ questions. During the performance of the analysis, A. Rudanov was in charge of the legal part of the analysis.

During the public presentation, the participants actively discussed the legal environment of possible investments and its changes, the current national policy on this issue, setting of quality criteria for health care services, pricing of health care services and principles of its formation.

The presentation of the analysis was attended by representatives of the Office of the President, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the State Health Care Accreditation Agency, the National Health Insurance Fund, the Competition Council, the Association of Local Authorities in Lithuania, the Association of Private Health Care Institutions in Lithuania, the Association of Private Hospitals in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Union of Managing Doctors, the Trade Union of Employees of the Lithuanian Health Care Sector, as well as of other institutions and organisations.
The performance of the analysis was co-financed by the European Social Fund and the national budget of the Republic of Lithuania with the funds intended for the implementation of the project “Systemic analysis of reforms ongoing in the health care sector, aimed at better implementation of the European Union health care policy” (project No. VP1-4.2-VRM-05-V-01-004) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania (which was presented in the manner of planning national projects).
