Students from Just the Beginning Foundation visit, tour Chicago office

On Wednesday, August 3, several dozen diverse high school students from the Just the Beginning Foundation (JTBF) visited Arnstein & Lehr for lunch, enjoying a welcome by Managing Partner Ray Werner and a career review by Named Partner Lou Lehr. Other Chicago attorneys gave tours of our office, and mixed and mingled with the students to discuss law school and the practice of law. They included Robert  Butters, Mary Cannon Veed,Robert  Cichocki, Judith Grubner, Steve Malitz, Robert E. and Theresa Wolf-McKenzie, Michelle Novick, Joe Scharmak and summer intern Adam Smith. Just the Beginning Foundation hosts 5- to 10- day programs in various metropolitan areas around the country for high school students as part of a pipeline program to get diverse high school kids interested in law school and becoming attorneys.

JTBF offers educational and inspirational programming to under-served youth from disadvantaged economic backgrounds at no cost to participants, laying the foundation for their educational and professional excellence. JTBF’s mission is to expand the diversity of the legal field.
