Partner James Durkin sworn in to the board of managers of the CBA

Chicago Partner James B. Durkin was sworn in on June 16 at the 138th Annual Meeting of the Chicago Bar Association to its board of managers. The board of managers sets policy for the 22,000 member association and exercises the authority conferred by law on an Illinois not-for-profit corporation. Founded in 1874, The Chicago Bar Association is one of the oldest and largest metropolitan bar associations in the United States.

Supplies of goods and services – replacement of laws on implied conditions and warranties

Do you use standard terms and conditions of supply or purchase orders in your business?  If you are a supplier who supplies:

  • goods or service to a person (including a corporation) if the amount paid or payable for the goods or services is $40,000 or less (irrespective of the nature of goods or services)
  • goods or services to a person (including a corporation) if the goods or services are of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption (irrespective of price)
  • a vehicle to a person (including a corporation) for use in the transport of goods on public roads (irrespective of price)

LIT’s LEAP Programme Business Awards (21.6.2011)

The winners of Limerick Institute of Technology’s Limerick Enterprise Acceleration Platform (LEAP) Programme Business Awards were announced yesterday at the awards ceremony attended by Minister Brian Hayes T.D. and our partner, Siobhán Buckley (Business Department).

Prizes to the value of €100,000 were awarded to start up businesses who won LIT’s LEAP business awards.
